Below is a list of potential funding sources that we encourage members to approach if they require funding support for their sport or recreational activity. Closing dates should only be used as a guide and it is the responsibility of members to complete their own applications.
Paralympics New Zealand has funds each year to be applied to Para-Athletes in the Canterbury Region for their training and development.
Individuals and organisations can apply. Funding is generally available for equipment, travel, coaching, camps, professional and personal development.

The Halberg Activity Fund provides financial grants to physically disabled young people to help overcome the financial barriers that prevent them from participating in sport.
Funding is generally available for sports equipment, coaching, school camps and swimming lessons.

Paraloan is a charitable trust that lends to people with physical disabilities to enable them to achieve what would not have been possible without some financial assistance.
Paraloan typically provides term loans for housing, vehicles and other purposes (eg: self employment, mobility scooters).
These are repayable loans, rather than a grant.

Make it Happen was established for children and their families in the Christchurch area, to apply for funding to go towards the costs of assisting in a sport, school activity, the arts, music, community or cultural activity, education and possible medical costs for children whose families financial means may inhibit them from otherwise doing so.
In general the Trust approves applications up to $500 per application. As from the 1 April 2020, there will be two funding rounds each month.

The purpose of this grant is to assist people with Cerebral Palsy to obtain items of services that mitigate the effects of living with Cerebral Palsy. Grants should assist a person’s independence and / or quality of life, or in the case of a child, also that of the parents, / family.

The ParaFed Canterbury Academy supports Canterbury's leading athletes, coaches and officials with a financial grant, along with education seminars and assistance with planning. Applications open around October each year.
